W / kW

Watts describe rate, not accumulated energy

Start with the unit and aggregation: a live watt reading, an average, and a peak can describe the same device in different ways.

What it meansA watt is power at a moment. In history, OctoMonitor may show raw samples or an aggregation such as average or peak watts for a selected window.

ComparisonMatch the device, metric, time window, aggregation, timestamp freshness, and telemetry coverage before comparing two values.

Do not inferDo not read watts or an average or peak of watts as watt-hours, kWh, cost, savings, or total energy—or as a self-consumption figure.

SourceDaily Solar Yield averages logged pvInput samples by day. Live Power history keeps the highest totalOutput per device in the selected window, so longer windows can surface brief spikes.
